About us

Originally inaugurated in 1954 as a small private educational institution by its founder, the late Mr. D. T. Sumathiwardana, the academy has gradually gained prominence. It has since expanded into an International Teacher Training Academy, now housed in a five-story building owned by the institution, located in the heart of Kurunegala town. Under the leadership of its current Chairman, Dr. D. D. R. K. Sumathiwardana, the academy is progressing toward becoming internationally recognized, with plans to establish branch academies across various provinces of the island, thereby providing teaching opportunities to educated job seekers.
